This is part 2 of my original post on Mystic Brew and Human Nature. Here is V. Iyer and S. Crump again but with Justin Brown on drums:

The feel is quite different and it’s interesting to observe the interactions during the performance. Here is an attempt at transcribing parts of the drum pattern:

To illustrate the divisions and visualise the shifting consider this simplified and 100% quantized (ugh) groove going from $4/4$ to $13/4$ to $21/4$ (I used 16th notes here because tempo automation in Ableton is capped).
